The Oakland Review

The Oakland Review is Carnegie Mellon University’s premier literary-arts journal. Since 1973, the publication has featured works of poetry, prose, and art, all reviewed and selected by an undergraduate editorial board. The Oakland Review is published annually and welcomes submissions from writers and artists of all backgrounds.

Run entirely by undergraduate students, with faculty advisor assistant professor of English Lauren Shapiro, The Oakland Review accepts submissions of fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, playwriting, screenwriting, and artwork. It has been recognized nationally by the Associated Writing Programs and had placed as a finalist in their Undergraduate Journal competition.
